One of the coolest parts of being EQ Custom Products is that we get the opportunity to meet and support some of the best riders and trainers in the industry.  This month, we want to share one of our top trainers and facilities with you and give you the opportunity to get to know them like we get to!

Ashleigh Charity of New View Stables brought her business to the Calgary in 2013 from Victoria, BC.  We are sure thankful she did!  She runs a busy and active student program while she continues to ride competitively in the Grand Prix ring.  Along side her exciting Grand Prix horses, Ashleigh always has an exciting variety of sales horses for all levels of riders.  New View has made a very positive impact on the Calgary and area riding programs with Ashleigh’s fun and passionate approach.  You can always find her students smiling, patting their horses and probably leaving the ring with a ribbon or two!

We sent Ashleigh some questions we thought you might be interested to hear her answers to:

What is it that you love the most about your career as a rider and trainer? As a trainer, I love watching my students progress through the levels and seeing their motivation and work ethic grow while enjoying the horses and having fun.    As a rider, I still am passionate about training and riding a green horse as well as an upper level/Grand Prix horse.

What is your biggest challenge as a rider?  What are you always working on to improve? Living up to the high expectations I set for myself.  I'm always looking to improve my knowledge, feel and understanding of each horse and its bio-mechanics.

What piece of tack can you not live without? My gloves - One thing I cannot ride without.

What qualities do you look for in a young horse?  It depends how young: if under-saddle:  Bloodlines & movement; Started under saddle: willingness, bravery, movement/technique and still considering bloodlines.

Tell us about an exciting young horse you have coming up? My imported coming 2 year-old stallion by Air Jordan Z / Indoctro X Heartbreaker.  HVL Con Air is the half brother to my Grand Prix horse Air Ride, who has been a fantastic, willing partner to move up the levels with.

Why the name New View Stables? What inspired this? In the car talking about names for a riding facility and my mom mentioned how beautiful the new farm's view was at the facility we were moving to.

Who are your top mentors/coaches? Gary Brewster, Robert Gharibzadeh & my first showjumping coach, Joanne Orchard.

What are your personal riding goals and aspirations? Continue developing young horses, and growing my knowledge and skills to compete at the upper levels of this sport.

Tell us about one of your exciting/feature sales horses! I have an exciting 8 year old mare who's been a 'stay at home mom' for the last 5 years.  She shows a ton of potential and scope.  I'm looking forward to showing her.

If you're looking for a program or you’re on the market for a new partner, be sure to check out Ashleigh at www.newviewstables.com

Thank you for being such a key part of our team Ashleigh, and for letting us get to know you a bit better!
